VERY GOOD DOGS

Der Rottweiler ist ein Hund mit vielen Talenten: er ist hart
und verspielt, bereit zu allem; einfach zu trainieren, wenn
er mit gebuehrendem Respekt und Betaendingkeit behandelt
wird; loyal und beschuetzend; stark und doch ruhig;
Er ist distanziert und wuerdevoll mit Fremden als auch verspielt
und liebevoll zu seiner Familie. In kurzen Worten, der Rotti ist der
typische "harte Kerl mit einem Herzen aus Gold"

"Very good dogs" ist ein fotografischen Langzeit-Projekt, welches
ich im Winter 2008 angefangen habe, das Menschen aus der Subkultur
um die Rottweiler Hunde und diese selbst zeigt. Der Fokus liegt hier
auf der Beziehung zwischen Halter und Hund und auf dem Lebens-
umfeld.

The Rottweiler is a dog of many talents: he’s rough and
tumble, ready for anything; easy to train, if treated with
respect and consistency; loyal and protective, at times to
a fault; strong, yet gentle;
aloof and dignified with strangers and playful and loving
to his family. In short, the Rottie is the
typical “tough guy with a heart of gold.”

“Very good dogs” is a photographic long-term
project, started in the winter of 2008, which shows people
out of the subculture around Rottweiler dogs and the dogs itselves.
The focus is on their relation to their dogs and the living environment.
